This week, our manga spotlight has shined on Shiki suggested by rozean & Ciguatera suggested by gamerora.  If you are unfamiliar with these manga be sure to check them out!

Shiki

Series Summary:
Sotoba is an old-fashioned Japanese village nestled deep in the mountains. It has a small population of about 1300, and the villagers strictly follow age-old traditions and customs.
One sweltering hot summer, a mysterious and deadly disease begins to spread rapidly among the villagers, affecting young and old alike. Following these puzzling deaths, a family of beautiful and elegant individuals moves into the abandoned 'Kanemasa' mansion on the hill-side over-looking Sotoba...

Ciguatera

Series Summary:
The story of Ciguatera follows Ogino who is bullied by a high school bully Tani(Taniwaki). At the start of the manga life is looks bleak for Ogino, who has only one friend; Takai (who is also bullied by Tani) and is interested only in bikes.
Ogino eventually tries to get his motorcycle liscence without his parents knowledge and meets Nagumo. The two start dating and Ogino finds the world a better place.
Once Ogino starts dating Nagumo, things get better for him. Tani stops bullying him and even moves out of school and he gets his motorcycle liscence.

I think Shiki was manga of the week already... not sure tough.

I read Shiki and even if the pace is a little slow at the beginning, it picks up later. I thought it was a really nice story and metaphor about life, people and the choice they have to make in life.
