This week, our manga spotlight has shined on Battle Royale suggested by Koliqi & The Cain Saga suggested by Nikokami.  If you are unfamiliar with these manga be sure to check them out!

Series Summary:
In the future, random Jr. High School classes are chosen to compete in a game called Battle Royale. The rules: only one student can survive after 3 days on an island or else they all perish. Weapons are handed out and each student is sent out into the field alone and unprepared for the horror that awaits them. The classmates turn upon themselves in a battle for survival, treaties are made and broken, and former friends become foes as the relentless countdown continues. Amid the betrayals and rising body count, two classmates confess their love for each other and swear to survive this deadly game together.

Series Summary:
Delve into the tortured past of Earl Cain C. Hargreaves, charismatic heir to a wealthy family full of secrets, lies and unthinkable crimes. Follow the young Cain as he attempts to unravel the secrets of his birth, all the while solving each new mystery that comes his way.

I actually hated the Battle Royale manga for pointless changes to add more fight and action scenes, and completely change the feel of some of the original scenes.  
Stuff like turning the villain superhuman, bah.

just gotta butt in and say The Cain saga is actually a worthwhile shoujo comic
Kaori Yuki knows her shit and it is a very good pick as manga of the week.

gaaaahhh okay any fangirls in the house? because godchild has practically all a fujoshi could ever want, and i for one love it.

battle royale... the official english translations were kinda shitty, weren't they? :/

The Cain Saga was awesome. Very well written, and the artwork is very good too ^^
