Really good choices. Aizen would first use you as a scapegoat and then kill you (or let your enemies do it). Light would probably kill you just for thinking about taking over the world. Urahara would be too lazy to do something as boring as taking over the world. Munsu used his time to stop those aiming to take over the world... I have never seen One outs so for all I know this Tokuchi Toua fellow might be proper.

Fine choices indeed. If you really thought about it, the helpers should be a crazy scientist who would be happy in his laboratory creating doomsday weapons with no further ambitions (like the Britannian dude from Code Geass). Someone suitable to be an uber assassin with few personal aims like Ulquiorra of Bleach. A perfect spy like Envy of FMA, happy as long as there's mayhem. Somebody like Shiho Sannomiya of ZKC with nice psychic skills would also be extremely useful if she could be corrupted while she's still growing up.

It'd be extremely foolish to recruit someone who would eventually supplant you or stop you due to his/her own existing convictions.

I agree with Kraco. Problem with this, though, is that I dont have many anime series under my belt. All I have is Peters evil overlord list (http://www.eviloverlord.com/lists/overlord.html) that tells me what to do and what not to do if I want to be a successfull evil overlord.

i agree that the evil overlord list will be very useful, and i would not rely on 5 henchmen (too risky) but a lot of competent henchmen who are skilled in what they do for me. who are loyal because i pay them well, treat them with a certain respect, good working conditions and are mentally stable, that type tends to be the most reliable.

Aizen and Light would probably not kill me, because it wouldn't benefit them to do so. Actually, they'd probably try to kill each other. And true Munsu tried to stop an EVIL lord from taking over the world, but I'm the one taking over the world not Aizen or Light, so if light or Aizen tried to kill me, I have Munsu there with me . Urahara is more of a manipulator than you think and he basically knows everything. Tokuchi is the king of psychological warfare and the one way to get him to follow me is to make make him loose a bet to me (it will be hard and may take a few years, but so long as I nail him then it's all good). He would team up especially well with Mokoto as they are both cyborgs and together I think they have a great synergy. I can't think of a better team for my enforcement division.

When it comes to research and intelligence gathering no one can hit the books quite like Yomiko. Also her background with the British Library makes her suitable to be a secret field agent of sorts with the ability gather info and thwarting possible threats autonomously.

If I am going to take over the world I will need help controlling the world's media, Diethard is a master of spin control and propaganda. No one can manipulate the hearts and minds of the populous as well as he. Also he is extremely skilled at intercepting and protecting communications so he can double as both an intelligence and counter-intelligence agent.

You guys can keep your evil genius lists but good luck getting them to mesh together with those gigantic egoes some of your choices wield. I like my minions to be exactly that... minions. Skilled and capable yet not the kind to want to take the throne from me once I finish conquering the world. You want to make sure your minions can take orders well otherwise you are as likely to get offed as the last world leader you had offed.

How exactly would I be a puppet? In the end I'd probably end up making the rules because these five can't reach an agreement. And I think these five would end up killing each other. After all many try and take the strong one out first then deal with the weak next.

No matter how you read that, the only way people who don't want to be ruled over are going to let you be the ruler is for you to not be a ruler at all in practice, only in name. That will allow them to have a bit of status quo so that they can kill each other.

This is even more contradictory. If they are interested in being the only supreme one to the point of risking everything, their lives included, why on earth would they let you to make rules? That's beyond wishful thinking. They would kill each others until only one is standing to gain power, not because they wanted the others dead. So, there's no way in hell they would peacefully hand you the power.

Although Munsu of course would be the first one to die because the others would mutually acknowledge him a great obstacle. And I doubt Munsu would deem you worthy to rule over the world anyway so he wouldn't be with you.
