This week, our manga spotlight has shined on Natsume Yuujinchou & Nodame Cantabile! If you are unfamiliar with these manga be sure to check them out!

Natsume Yuujinchou
Series Summary:
Natsume's just an ordinary kid, except he can see spirits, just like his grandma Reiko could. Reiko, though, used to bully the spirits, and bound them to her will in the "Book of Friends". Now that Natsume has inherited this book, a never-ending stream of spirits is coming after him. With the help of a spirit "cat" (who really just wants Natsume to die so he can have the book), Natsume spends his days dissolving the contracts that bind the spirits and trying not to get killed.

Nodame Cantabile
Series Summary:
Nodame (or Noda Megumi) is a 3rd year student at a music academy who is a very talented piano player. She is a quite a strange girl who doesn't like to clean her room and washes her hair every 5 days. Her interpretation of musical pieces are very creative and unique. She falls in love with Chiaki Shinichi who is a very talented fourth year student at the academy. Chiaki is in the piano division but he actually wants to become a conductor. Before he meets Nodame, his music is quite technical and precise. Nodame causes him to rediscover the fun in playing music. This is an extremely hilarious manga which may change the way you look at classical music.

Yes! Nodame is one of my favorite manga, hope more people read it because of this. It's a bit drawn out at times but the characters just make me want to keep reading.

Wow... Natsume 'n Nodame!
Both of them are my favorites >w<//

Natsume's done well with the anime ,too. Since it came out for two seasons by now.

Reading Nodame drives me to listen to more classical music. LOL
I'm kind of can't wait till this fall for its 3rd season animation to come out as they've promised.

Nodame always been my favorite (I even bought some hardcopies, too bad manga in my mother language are not as fun as reading the english). The art's is far from annoying, the story's decent, the characters're lovable, and above all, I love classics.

I've downloaded 2 volumes of Natsume just now. And as far as I read, its very good, considering its shoujo (well, shoujo are mostly annoying emo and over beautified characters). I will keep track on Natsume from now on, thanks to somebody who recommended this to us.
